Indy Street Sweep is a series of volunteer cleanups across Indianapolis. Smaller neighborhood sweeps run throughout the year, building up to one massive citywide Day of Caring where hundreds of neighbors clean up the city in a single morning.

We run smaller sweeps a few times a year, and the big citywide sweep returns Monday, July 19, 2027. Check Upcoming Sweeps at the top of the page for the next date near you.

Absolutely. Just let us know how many people are in your group when you sign up.

Comfortable clothes you don't mind getting dirty, closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and a water bottle. We'll handle the rest.

Each sweep has its own neighborhood, listed with the event. Pick whichever one is closest to you or wherever you want to make an impact. For the big citywide sweep, you'll choose a rally point when registration opens.

Indy Street Sweep is one of the simplest ways to volunteer in Indianapolis. Pick an upcoming neighborhood sweep, RSVP, and show up. No experience needed, and we provide every supply. It's a great way for individuals, families, and companies to give back to the city.

Yes, every sweep is completely free. The Eventbrite link is only for RSVP so we know how many people to expect. There's never a cost to join.

None at all. Whether it's your first time volunteering in Indianapolis or your fiftieth, you'll fit right in. Just show up and we'll get you set up.

Site leaders are for the big citywide sweep. Each one manages a group of roughly 30 volunteers at their assigned rally point, helping coordinate the cleanup and make sure their crew has what they need. The smaller neighborhood sweeps don't need site leaders, just show up.

Sweeps happen rain or shine. We'll email any major weather updates ahead of time.

Not at all. This is open to everyone, all backgrounds, all neighborhoods. Just come ready to serve.

About two hours. Most sweeps run in the morning, so you'll be done with plenty of day left.
